I WAS THERE

I have been raised to be a conqueror
With the world
To stand and see the earth grow,
watch and hear sea sings
In loneliness of thoughts i heard
Humanity calling.
I was there when sun shine in
Sahara and rain drops in her desert

As its bond in them to hold me in
Chain to see their weakness behind
I have been held to feel the existence in nature, where lays the
Source.
To that i stand tall like Egyptian Pyramids for freedom

I was there when history was about
To be written by westerns
When all were measured i was called
Slave
Like a Zoo artifact they watch me
Been weep and naked me for mockery.

In all the pain i was with them when
Civilization become head way
With my blood i fought side ways
Along to win the battle for liberation
All were achieved in my strength and
Still they racist against being Black
To the pain, slavery and racist I'm
Proud to be called an African man.
